Been a drummer for a very long time and played on many different brands of drum sets and they all have their own unique sound. It's my personal opinion that different brands are better suited towards particular music styles such as hard rock or jazz for example. If you want to rock-out-loud, then a good match would be the Tama, as they tend to be boomy in their overall sound. If your style is more towards less heavy styles of music or more middle-of-the-road, then Ludwig is the way to go. Hope this helps as a possible starting point towards your ultimate decision of which drum set suits you better.
