Fully-charged IPOD dies if not "attached" to something else (see details)?
When I seat my IPOD on my IPOD player (like a mini boom box) or hook it up to the cassette adapter in my car, it works fine. Just when I try to use the IPOD without attaching it to another source, it will run from 30 seconds to 30 minutes or so before dying. Immediately after dying, I place the IPOD back into the seat of the IPOD player, it gives me the grey apple screen for about 10 seconds, and then responds normally, with a FULLY CHARGED battery. It does not need to be recharged, so I don't think this is a battery issue. What's the deal? It's an IPOD classic, 80 GB. Thanks.
Battery is done for. Get it replaced at an Apple store. It'll probably run you around $90
