How do I get that table top sound out of my orange county vented snare drum?
I have a 6 1/2 by 14 vented 3 inch 20 ply snare drum. I want to get that wood block dry sounding table top snare sound. All that I am getting out of it is really loud trashy snare sound. I want less snare and more solid hits. Drummers please help me out! Thanks
You get a wood block sound by playing cross stick. This is where you do not hit he head at all, just the rim. You may also mean a rim shot where you hit the head and rim at the same time. Both of these take time to perfect and cannot be explained in writing. Take a few lessons.
