Have you ever considered becoming a foster parent? Well I am unsure as to how many of the readers of this article will have answered this question in the positive however my sister and her husband have been foster parents to a young boy called Josh for the last two years and it is something that has hugely enhanced the lives of all three of them. In this article I will be explaining more about their journey and about the way in which my sister and my brother-in-law located a suitable fostering company.

My sister is called Laura and her husband's name is Kevin. Even though I am some what biased I have to say that you would struggle to meet a nicer couple - they are both kind, loving, caring, fun and loyal people. My sister, for reasons that I am unsure of, is unable to conceive a child of her own. This news, when she first received it, came as a rather big body blow - in fact this is probably the understatement of the year. Laura is however a fighter and a very positive person and it was not long before she bounced back from this massive disappointment.

Laura and Kevin discussed at length the possibilities, including egg donation, and it was soon decided and established that they were going to go down the fostering route. They looked at various avenues to locate a professional fostering company and they eventually went with one that they found on the internet.

The process was far from swift however two years ago they were introduced to Josh who was aged just three at the time. Josh is a fun loving child who is very confident for his age - he is loving his new found stability. My sister and Kevin are enjoying (seemingly) every single minute of looking after Josh and I am really pleased for all three of them.

If you are unable to have kids of your own - fostering may well be the answer.
