How do I make my snare drum sound better?
I have a ludwig steel shell snare drum that I recently bought, and I'm having trouble with the sound. It has way too much resonance and I don't really know how to fix that on a snare drum. Any ideas?
first loosen your snare wires and tune your snare so it sounds like a tom higher than your highest tom and then put your snare wires on with the screw that you use to tighten them is all the way loose then tighten that screw till you like the sound/ also you can go to guitar center and buy these things that evans makes called mini-emad they are super cheap like a penny buy like four place them on your snare and it stops a good amount of resonating
