Why Magic The Gathering made From The Vault: Legends so awful?
From The Vault series was meant to be good, but lately it blows. I saw a list of From The Vault:Legends and it was awful. Most of the rares where just 2-3 years old. I was expecting better rares like Akroma, Angel of Wrath or Ertai, Wizard Adept or something else way back 10 to 15 years ago. From The Vault: DuaL Lands or From The Vault: Planeswalkers would of been a lot better. I heard several stores complaining that From The Vault: Legends are not selling.
From the Vaults: Legends has some of the most powerful legends in the game, Kikki Jikki is very very strong, Teferi wins you games on its own, Sun Quan makes your creatures basically unblockable, Rafiq is amazing. They printed a lot of these legends because the cards are being used in a lot of Commander/EDH decks and they wanted it to be easier to get Tier 1 commanders. Your statement that most of the cards are only 2-3 years old is not true, a good portion of the cards are older than that. Sisay, Kikki, Sun Quan, Cao Cao, Visara, and Teferi all say hi. There was plenty of thought and debate that went into the set and many of the legends were turned down for a place. This is the result of a long debate.
