Wooden Flooring - How To Choose The Right Wood Floors
With oak flooring you can relax in the knowledge that as an investment it will last a lifetime. When other financial plans fall short and banks cry out for aid, you can be sure that the wood floors you installed and properly maintained will look beautiful for decades.
The Feel Of Your Floor
A wooden floor can be treated with various different products, in an effort to alter the floor's appearance and feel to the way the buyer requires. Different oils, lacquers and waxes are often used to achieve a broad range of effects. The large majority of wood floors tend to be treated with a lacquer, whether it's varnish or acrylic they will often give wood flooring the appearance of an obvious sheen with sleek characteristics. Using a wax or wood oil, the treated floor will soak up the oil into the top layer of wood. When it's then received a wax finish it will have the appearance of a more damp sheen to it.
Which Grade Of Wood?
There are actually different grades of wooden floor available, and procedures for determining them have actually been set into a standard.
